In the 1940's, the Great Depression was drawing to a close, bringing with it a hope for a brighter economic future. Yet there was also uncertainty on the world stage as a war loomed. To cope, people turned to their radios to stay informed as well as to escape for an hour or two each evening. Radio personalities and musicians helped Americans through the war and the years following.

The Ensemble received a $500 Award from KAKEland Cares and DeVaughn James Injury Attorneys that will help underwrite our 40's Performance Series. We're taking 40's music and dancing to those who remember the 40's! Complete with costumes and emcee about these fantastic 'radio days', the ensemble will entertain individuals and audiences with the music of their youth!

Sound of the Heartland will be competing in SAI Region 25's annual competition on March 25 at the Doubletree Hotel Ballroom. The region's choruses and quartets will meet in Little Rock, AR this year to compete in the areas of music, sound, showmanship and expression while performing a ballad and an uptune. Sound of the Heartand will be singing "I Can't Recall His Name" and "A Dream Is A Wish". Wish us well...
