Music. Harmony. Community. Barbershop.
Founded in 1945, what began as a small group of women who loved to sing, developed into a nonprofit organization that would eventually bridge continents and unite women from around the world in their mutual love of music.

The sweet blend of a cappella barbershop harmony is the heartbeat of this nearly 23,000-member worldwide organization. With more than 70 years of barbershop history, Sweet Adelines International provides a legacy of joy and passion for singing to those women who experience the sisterhood and lifelong friendships on the choral risers each week. As one of the largest associations of women singers on earth, Sweet Adelines continues to positively impact women's lives and helps them find their voices, build confidence, enhance their vocal abilities, improve leadership and management qualities, and create a lifelong support system of sisterhood and friendship.

Governed by an elected board of directors and operated by a professional staff in Tulsa, Okla., this organization is like none other — listen and see what makes us so different. Education, leadership, music, learning — all are integral parts of our organization.
Becoming a Sweet Adeline means you will not only grow musically, but also find yourself surrounded by a community of sisters who are there for you in the midst of harmonizing a four-part chord, as well as in the midst of life’s unexpected surprises.

Once a Sweet Adeline, always a Sweet Adeline — welcome to a very special association that revolves around the joy of singing, one who seeks harmony, provides support and perpetuates an American art form that changes women's lives all over the world. Welcome to Sweet Adelines International!

Mission Statement
