Vocal training and education for women are a big part of our organization.  We believe that singing is one way women of all ages can stay engaged in music their entire lifetime.  The ensemble's performances have an impact in the community like no other, bringing a special art form to audiences using harmony to express a message.  Art lives in us all.

Your support is vital in keeping this unique art form available in and near your community. And we all know that a community that offers vibrant arts and entertainment is a sweet place to live!

Sound of the Heartland Women’s Acapella Ensemble rehearses in Newton, KS with members from all around the south-central region of Kansas.  As a non-profit arts organization, support from individuals and businesses can help us increase accessibility to musical performances and open doors for opportunities that may not have existed before.  Your donation can help support this performing arts opportunity.

Steps to Risers

   As an award-winning chorus, our goal is to be a premier, professional performing ensemble.  We have been a chorus for over 50 years, and for more than 40 of those we have performed on our original risers. After 40 years they have lots of wear and tear. We are asking for your support in paying for new, more easily transported risers.  We love to perform for all types of audiences; your donation will make it possible for us to present a more professional musical product to audiences that deserve that level of presentation. Outside benefactors can make new risers affordable for our ensemble.

   Our Steps to Risers program is a chance for you to support us, and to have recognition for that support. A donation of $400 or more will make your organization a Step Donor. We will put a plaque with your name and the year 2025 on one of the 20 riser steps. We will also recognize your support in various public relations releases during the year. We sing for many audiences each year, and they will know that you and your organization made a difference to the community.

   The Sound of the Heartland Chorus of Sweet Adelines International is an affiliation of women of all ages who sing to promote and share our love of four-part barbershop harmony with the communities around us, to develop friendships in an atmosphere of respect, to gain personal growth and provide education through performance and competition, and to strive and be recognized for musical excellence.
